I was performing some mods today.....ball shift ****, cd player, engine bay painting and the 9 piece exotic vette black out kit. I got all the rear pieces on easily, the front two were another issue. On the website and mailed instructions it states that they should be held in by pressure fit. Well the size does not seem perfectly cut and I was scared of scraping my paint from pushing them in really hard. For those of you with this kit could you please let me know how you installed them and post some close up pictures for me.
I felt the same way you did with the front blackouts....IE:
There's no way they go in without scratching the paint or breaking the light.
I pushed in the center, HARD and UP and they popped in
No noticeable scratches, although if you look with a magnifying glass, there's a little one.
The second one went easier, after I had the feel of it.
If you're worried, maybe put a small piece of cloth around the light, at the bottom...stuff it in with a toothpick, pop the blackout in, pull the cloth out.
so the black out sits between the light and the inside of the bumper? sounds like i should tape up the bumper and then just pry it in? again any pics of this up close would greatly help out. thanks

I just replaced my covers for coated lenses. The covers would slip a little. No biggie, but...
Anyway masking tape the rearmost part of the bumper, push the cover upward and forward. The rearmost section of the cover goes in last. Then it's just a matter of sliding it around into position. Then remove the tape. Generally a really frustrating 5 min job.

Yes. The light will spring back after you wedge the blackout in. Seems to me that in just went in and found its place. Tight fit at the top, and the bottom is not wedged in, just flush.
The masking tape idea sounds like a good one.
Sorry no pics, I never have bothered to figure out how to post them. I had a hard enough time with the avatar.
