Anyone install a custom dash kit? I'm thinking of doing it in a 2000 C5 Coupe (Pewter with a black interior).
1. Was it worth the effort - looks and upkeep?
2. Easy installation?
3. Flat or moulded?
4. Metal, color or wood?
5. From what source?
6. Cost?
7. Would you be willing to share photographs? (If you wish, I would be willing to provide an email so you did not have to post them).
Worth it and more. Very easy installs. What dask kit do you want? A color, Carbon fiber, wood, aluminum, etc...? If a color, just paint what you have. If CF, then get the replacemet parts, the overlays look like overlays. Same with the wood/aluminum. Paint is going to be cheaper, while the CF can cost thousands. I don't have a new pic of my CF interior after install or I would post it here.

I've got the molded real wood stuff in my Suburban. Not cheap, but it breaks up the acres of gray nicely. I don't care much for the wood in a Vette though.
Here's another question to go along with this. I want a dask kit that I can paint to match the exterior and theme that I am going with on the car. Overlays are nto an option. I searched this site, google, yahoo, etc but couldn't find this. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Go to Rksport.com They have a paintable kit that you can buy for $200 I think. Hope this helps you out.
