Squeeks in Door Trim
Our 2003 Convertable began making squeeking noises recently. The noise is coming from the plastic trim cover that houses the seatbelt attachments and mechanisms on both sides, running vertically from the floor to the top of the door frame.
The noise seems to eminate mainly from the joint where the top half and bottom half overlap, but the whole piece creeks as the car goes down the road.
Anyone have a fix for this nifty GM engineering gift? I squirted a little WD40 in the crack where they overlap which helped a little, but am womdering if I need to take all the trim out and lay some felt between the plastic and the body, and where the two pieces overlap....
