It doesn't sound liek the fuel pump. Somebody on the thread you linked suggested that there was a leaky fuel injector. I've seen on other cars where pressure was put to the fuel system with the car off. If it didn't hold, the problem is in that system.

I am assuming that you checked all the codes, correct?

Next, how many miles do you have on the car. There was also a suggestion for changing out plugs. Sounds like a complete tune up wouldn't be a bad idea.

You could have an issue with coils. Many moons ago, I would sell coils that went out for no apparent reason. A friend of mine had something like this happen with his caddy and it turned out to be two bad coils.

this probably isn't much help but I hope it might get you in the right direction. Just my $.02 ... apply it to the repair bill and keep the change

We were told that if an injector was leaking, then it would run noticebly rough.

Throwing no codes.

85k and the plugs and wires were changed 2 months ago.

Well, then, no clue here either. I'd find a good mech' that you can trust and have the car checked out. Good luck
