Default It really burns my a$$..............

....that you have to pay tax on a used car that someone already paid tax on when they purchased it new. I know its part of the game, but still. Ive been saving my spare change/cash for the past year to spend on something, excessive, pintless, and fun....but now Ive gotta use most of it to pay to register the new Z....which in and of itself I suppose is excessive, pointless and fun....but I still hate giving 2 large to "the man" for no good reason. Ok, Ill stop bitching now

Here in MI even if you have a trade in, you have to pay tax on the full value, not the value after trade!!!! it really hurts

Default tax

It sucks to register a car in VA. Same thing happened to me. It should be illegal that they charge you tax every year for a car that sales tax was already paid on.

Are you in the military? If so, they may have a taxempt form like they have had every place I have been stationed. I too hate the tax ordeal on used cars or even a new car and you have to pay a property tax on it each year.

If you are not in the military, sorry to hear of your misfortunes and hopfully someone will think about how dumb it is.

I can feel the hair on the back of neck going up! That is just the tip of the ice berg. Here in NJ the would tax your a$$ if it didn't have a crack in it!! But give them time the politics here are so corrupt and no ones has the gonads to do anything about ... so I'm sure we all will be seeing an A$$ tax here in NJ shortly.

Yes I am in the military...is there a way to get around the tax?? The deal is, I currnetly live in VA, but moving to TX in a month, which is where the car is currently located. Also, Im technically a legal resident of FL, and I have the plates off my old Z from FL. Is there any way to register in either of the three states without paying tax?? Also, whats the deal with the yearly fee in VA?? I wasnt aware of this and they didnt tell me about it when I registerd my truck last month. Thanks for the help guys!
