Default knee bolsters?

I'm changing the black interior in My 99 vert to two-tone black with red accents, and would like to change the knee bolsters to red also. Has anyone changed these and was it very difficult?

I've done this and it's nothing more than screws and clips. But, if you intend to change the door panels too, be ready to spend some serious bucks.

I'll see if I can find the link but there is interior paint that you can use on the door panels if your not up for buying new panels. I looked into this myself at one time.

To remove the driver side knee bolster itself, there is one Torx 15 screw behind the fog light/hatch button. And two torx 15 underneath towards the bottom of the bolster. When you reinstall, dont forget to pull the wireharness back through the hole. I dont think you have to remove the center console or the radio/hvac surround. But if you have to, the center console can be taken out by removing 4 10mm nuts and the radio/hvac surround can be taken out by removing 1 torx 15 behind the slated grille to the left of the key ignition, 1 torx 15 next to the cig lighter, 1 torx 15 behind the ash tray. Again, dont forget to make all your connections before you reinsall everything.

The glovebox can be removed by 4 7mm screws along the upper edge (glovebox open), and pop off the 2 plastic caps inside the glovebox and remove the 2 10mm nuts. You may need to remove the 7mm screw from the right side of the dash where the door closes up against it, i cant remeber if this screw attaches through the glovebox side...

overall should take less than 30 minutes
