The two mornings I have gotten behined a highway patrol on my way to work. Ihad to follow him for about 15 miles and he even gets off on my exit. At least he's doing 70mph. Well, this morning as I am going up the grade to work (this is where people freak out because of a hill) and the cop pulls over into the slow lane, I know he does that for people like me who cant stand slow idiots for no reason other than a hill, and haul @$$. Anyway one of the guys from work with a Z06 came from behind us and just happened to pass the cop with a semi between him so he couldn't see him and tried to get me to play. He flew by me at about 90mph and I didn't even have a chance to warn him. All I could do was watch and yes, he got him, right on the off ramp to work. Everybody is gonna see him, what a drag.
Well, I am sorry for your bud but if he was doing 90 in morning commute traffic, he got what his hand called for. ya wanna go fast go in the left lane. Ya wanna go really fast? go to the track

The problem is some guys driving Vettes just can't keep their right foot under control. It's hard for all of us. But as discussed in another thread recently - there's a time an place for a little fun - morning commuting traffic is not the time or the place. Like MVD stated - maybe the LEO was a cool guy and let Mr Red Z06 off with a warning and fresh load in his pants.....
Out here in the Abq, the state has started this campain.. "Slow Down Albuquerque" The are now potorling the freways like you would not belive. There is a cop about every 5 miles or so clocking trafic on both the 40 and the 25. Good luck speeding at all. Mind you that isn't suck a bad thing out here... we have many a dumb a$$ that like to go 90 when traffic is at 50. I won't even tell you what they are doing at school zones.
Here in Dee-troit, we have an over-under interchange between I-75 southbound and M53 (Hayes Road) up near Pontiac. If you aren't up to at least 90mph by the time you try to merge, you'll get run over. Usually by the big rigs in the middle lane. LEO's know about this interchange, and they don't camp on it. However, 2 miles up the road on I-75, there's this nice little median cut out with zero visibility until you're right on it. Us locals know about it, and it's funny to watch the visitors deploy their speed 'chutes as they pass the state trooper usually sitting there. We also know he won't bother with you at anything under 75-80, but any faster, and your'e got. It's my usual route to work. Always good for a laugh in the morning.
A number of years ago I was cruising on I-5 north of Portland just above the 70 mph speed limit in my Camaro with the radar detector on. Two Porsches passed me doing close to 100 mph, one guy in each, tops down and grinnin' right along. Shortly, my radar detector start singing it's song, and presently I came upon FOUR WSP patrol cars with both Porsches stopped along the highway. WSP had guns drawn and aimed. The 'racers' appeared to be rather concerned about their present status. I honked as I went by. Funny!
