I currently live in Texas, and I have a family member that does state inspections so there's never an issue. Since I'll be moving to Ga. I was wondering if anyone out there knows the laws, if there are any, relating to tinted windows, and emissions, or anything else I need to worry about. I know I'll have to start wearing a @!&$%# helmet when riding my bike!
Georgia has only one license plate . No emission inspections(at least not in the boondocks here far from Atlanta). Window tint is the same as most other states (don't know the %). Enforcement varies. I have had an 01 Tahoe with uniform dark tint everywhere except w/s for >5 yrs and have not been bothered, but I see DUI arrest reports saying driver pulled over for window tint violation. My vert windows are not tinted, but would expect it to get more scrutiny. You got red/yellow vette with loud pipes, you take your chances.
Emissions inspection varies from county to county. Fulton (Atlanta) does have inspections. I am about 40 miles south and my county does not. You need to check the city you are moving in. As for window tint. Same laws as most states. Most LEO's don't say much unless they get you for some other violation and then nail you for the windows. Oh!! as you may already know, NO FRONT TAG REQUIRED.... What part of Ga. are you moving to?
I'll be assigned to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, Ga. Depending on which hospital my fiancee gets a job at will determine if I live in Brunswick or closer to Savannah. I've also thought about St. Marys, but nothing concrete yet.
We moved to Flowery Branch Ga, (North of Atlanta) 20 years ago from, Indiana, and while we love Indiana its people yada yada yada, YOU WILL LOVE GA, we will never leave, look forward to seeing you, there is lots to do here and many great clubs if that is your thing, plus Road Atlanta in Sept for P. Lemans AWESOME, I like you, am not crazy about the helment law, but that's OK. Hope to see ya in Frazer's HD sometime.

Thanks for all of the info................
Welcome
state inspections = Not outside of Atlanta
tinted windows = 35 % I have 20% never been stoped
wearing a @!&$%# helmet = But Fla is just down the road
As far as Hospitals Brunswick has 1 BIG one and Savannah has 3
lived in GA for 3 years - had 2 cars with tinted glass
35% / 20 % never any problems - one car the dealer did the tint for me.
Have fun, its a great state to live in.
The actual legal tint is either 32 or 33% (I can't remember exactly). I learned this while LEOs were standing on the side of the road and waiving people into a parking lot. I got waived over for failure to signal lane change on my bike (only got a warning) and while they were running my licence a person was waived in for illigal tint, so I asked the LEO.
