Do you have an example of a fob for your car to compare?

Both remotes use a CR2450 coin type battery. I found replacement batteries at Office Depot. To replace, use a coin to wedge between the seam, and twist.

I just bought some from the guys at Ken Fichtner Chevrolet. I bought two of the passive style (with the little switch on it for passive lock/unlock) for our 99 coupe. They gave me quite a break from list.
I lost one of them for the 99, and then the other one quit working.
The 2000 key fob in part number 10432147. Good Luck. I have tried to buy some on e-bay and get out bidded by a major vendor of key fobs. Get a dealer price to make sure that you don not pay to much.
PN 10432147, about $90.00 shipped, at Gene@FredBeans. List is about $131.00
Geez !!! I was thinking about getting a new one because the lettering on one of mine is pretty much worn off. It still works ok, so to the tune og 90-130 bucks, I "ll live with it or just switch to the spare one which rarely been used.

Let me know if you want to get rid of the worn one!!!
I need another remote for my 2000 coupe. How do I know which one to get? There are many on eBay but I'm not sure how to know if they are compatible.
Thanks!!
When i purchased my 01 Z06 it only came with one key and remote, the second one apparently was destroyed some time ago and it was never replaced. Long story short, i went to a local dealer and had to get a new key cut and remote programed (had to have a back up), and both of them only ran me $95 out the door.
How are you guys getting prices of $90 to $130 for just the remote? Did my dealer just make an error in pricing me out my key and remote???

You definitely got a good deal for a new remote and new key. The absolute lowest price I've seen for a brand new remote is $74.64. The list price is $130.00.

The FOBs for 2001-2004 are only $44.52, list. So you paid $50.00 for the VATS key?

That is the later style fob without the passive feature, and it is not the "fat" fob. gmpartsdirect lists the GM list price as $44.52, but they sell them for $25.
The 97-99 passive style fobs list for well over $100, but I bought mine from Fichtner (forum vendor....) and for two of the more expensive passive fobs and a new key for my 99 the total was under $200 delivered to my house, so the fobs were around $65 each and the key was around $30 if I remember. correctly.
