Well it's time to get rid of the Vette. I don't want to see it go but my wife and I are expecting our first kid in Aug.
So I was thingking of getting the New Trailblazer SS that has the new Vette engine in it. Just wanted to get some thoughts on this truck if anyone has any experience with it.
Also the fact that I'm in NJ and we are getting 12" of snow tonight just validates the reason we need an SUV.
Thanks

I'll be the first, congrats!!!!!! children do change things, especially in the vehicle department.
I've got an infant and a small child... dont ditch the vette because of them. I thought I would have to too, but its worked out. Just go buy a older cheap car to use in the snow and when you need to transport. Then you'll still have the wifes car for reliable transportation and the vette for yourself.
Not a bad Idea, but my thinking it to lease the trailblazer for 3 years then go back and get a new Vette. Still not sure yet? The wife's car is a 2 door Accord that sucks all together. Would like to get rid of that but would take to big of a loss on the lease.
Sometimes you can turn leases in early...I would at least try to see what they could do for the wife's car... take it in... then you could get a nice new lease on car that could comfortable hold all family members for trips, etc. Then spend a couple grand cash on a daily 4 seat driver for yourself, and your vette stays in the garage for the good days. What have you got to loose? your vette. so, at least see what you could do with the wifes car.

You will not be able to turn the Honda lease in early. I know from experience. Well, actually, you can but they'll rape you.
I think the SS Trailblazer is a hot truck. I was thinking of getting one myself, but not loosing the vette in the deal. All of the car mags speek very highly of the ovelall package. They say the suspension is in parr with the engine. Good luck and let us know how you like it.
I've turned a few cars in early. Call the bank to find out the payoff of the vehicle. Then do a search for a dealer trade in value. Whatever the difference is is what you'll have to pay. If you have a Honda, they hold their value so it shouldn't be too bad unless you just leased it, then it could be a little more difficult. Oh btw, I had done it for 2 acura TL's in the past. Good luck! I have the vette and a truck and the little lady is due in august also!
I bought my 01 when I found out my wife was pregnant. I didn't want to be one of those soccer mom/dad, station wagon dudes. It really scared me. I wanted to seem cool to my son later, so all the early pictures have the cool car. Right now I have the vette, SUV and a Honda Civic. The Civic may go
I actually saw the SS yesterday at my local dealer and think it is pretty cool. My wife has a regular '03 Trailblazer and aside from an annoying rattle in the rear it has been a great vehicle. I was also in your position and chose to stick it out with the Vette, but I realize an Accord is not as useful and safe as an SUV- so good luck and congratulations/best wishes on your first child. It is a terribly humbling experience.
funny....i just read a car and driver article at the hair cuttin place today. they gave the SS first place over the Jeep SRT8. said the jeep is faster etc but the jeep's suspension is way to stiff and will beat u to death, the SS tows more and is still fun. also said, though, the SS is still a trailblazer and apparently in their opinion the chassis isnt nearly stiff enough in regular form and teh stiffer suspension makes the lack of rigidity even more apparent. but ive never been in one so i woulndt know. just wnated to share what C and D said.
oh and congrats on the kiddo. time to start shoppin for vette baby clothes, vette toys, etc.

And sorry you have to part with the Vette.
But I still think to get the best views on SUV's you might want to visit SUV forums (or more specifically in your case a GM / truck forum). As one would come here to get the best information on Corvettes, same goes for other vehicles and forums.
Sorry you didn't think much of my answer. I was just trying to be helpful. Good luck to you just the same.

And maybe things will work out for you that you can get a family vehichle and keep the Vette.
congrats on the child---take lots of pictures. One day you're taking them to kindergarten; wake up the next day they are off to college and you're wondering where all the time went.
I would try to keep the vette---but if does not work out there is always a another C-5 or C-6 down the line (they are growing on me) don't know what to do about the other vehicle; I just know how good it feels to be a dad that my college attending son still wants to hang out with.
