During my late teens and early 20's I was always a casual fan of the corvette, but the addiction started in 1994 when I started my present job (LEO).
One paticular day I showed up for my 2nd shift tour of duty and observed a torch red c-4 parked in the shift commanders parking spot. The vehicle belonged to a Sergeant who I eventually became very good friends with.
I walked over to the vette, looked inside and viewed the immaculate torch red interior. I walked around the vehicle and I was in awe of the lines and the beautiful paint. I can say that was my first dosage.
Approximately 3 years later, that same good friend of mine traded his C-4 for the c-5 (torch red with grey interior.) One paticular night my buddy met me in the employee parkinglot with his new arrival, and said let's go for a spin. He threw me the keys and said lets see what it will do. At this time, I am in shock and can't believe that he is letting me drive his brand new corvette. It was the very first time I had driven a Vette and the memory is priceless. Needless to say this was the dosage that hooked me.
My buddy retired a couple of years later and moved out of state. In Sept of 05 my dreams came true when I purchased a low mileage 01 torch red/black a4 coupe.
It's just awesome to find out via this forum that there are numerous addicts out there besides me. Again pardon the short story.
Welcome to the forum and the Family. The story was great and I believe we all have one that pushed us over the edge. Enjoy the ride. You are among friends here and you won't find a nicer more knowledgeable group about this car that we all love. Don't be afraid to ask questions, we were all new once.

That's a great story that requires no apology. We all have a story about how we were bitten with the fever and it's always good to hear each one. Congrats on your new Vette and welcome to the greatest forum on the net

I know more about corvettes because of this forum than any car I've ever owned. You'll never have a problem that someone here can't answer. Congrats!!!
