take the sway bar down by removing the 4 bolts/nuts (2 per side) where it attaches to the rear cradle - the endlinks can remain in place and it will pivot down
I swapped cat backs this weekend - I also found it useful and NECESSARY to remove the rear heat shield on the PASSENGER side gas tank - required removing 2 bolts and WELL worth the effort (1 minute to remove) - I don't think I'd have gotten the pass cat back off w/o removing that heat shield.
Also, I had my car up about 32 - 33 inches (measured from the LOWEST part of the rear facia to the ground)

If you don't want to cut your stock exhaust, then yes, swing the sway bar down. At least that is what the shop that installed mine did and it worked very well.
I didnt have to disconnect the rear sway bar to take out the stock cat back because I cut them out. But on installing the B&B Bullets yes you have to take the swing arm loose to get the passenger side over axel pipe piece to fit. But not so on the drivers side. Weird huh?
