I 've asked this before any never really got an answer. I have an 02z and lowered it on stock bolts w/bushings cut. I have a bad vibration and see that my right front wheel weights are scraping against something. Seeing that the vibration has gotten worse over time i'm assuming it's because the weight has gotten shaved down from the rubbing. Have any of you guys experienced this. If so, how did you remedy it. My wheel weights are on the backside lip of the rim. Please give me your comments any info would help. I would take it to a shop, however we just got hit with about 2' of snow here in CT. Thanx.
That's how I lowered mine with no problem, first I'd wait for the weather to clear, then get it on a lift to see what the wheel is rubbing against, if nothing found have the wheels re balanced, if that goes well, then when time permits have all 4 wheels alined. Good Luck.

Alignment already done. The wheel weights were rubbing before. Tires were rebalanced and now the same thing. So you have done the same mod and no problems. Where are your wheel weights? I think mine are rubbing against the control arm.

I have mine lowered as far as possible on the stock bolts. The weights are on the inside of the wheel. No rubbing at all.
Does NOT sound like anything that the lowering would contribute too...
I was thinking the same thing. I have chrome c5z wheels. When I got them off of here the seller he stated they were oem. They were just as light as my oem ones. How can I make sure they are oem. Also, I put the chrome wheels on the same time I lowered the car.
Something isn't right, the thickness of a wheel weight should not cause any clearance problems (unless we're talking pound size weights).
You need to get the car jacked up and spin the wheel to see what is hitting where.
Good luck
I'm gonna do it on a lift in a couple weeks. I just had shoulder surgery late last week, trying to recup now. I'm just trying to see if any of you guys ran into the same thing.

An actual OEM rim I believe will have GM stamped somewhere inside the wheel. NOW, just becasue a wheel is NOT an OEM part does not mean it was not made with the correct offset......
If you think the offset could be the problem, after looking at the back side of the wheel, try to determine (if even possible) where they came from. THEN see if you can learn what the offset is.....
IF you can not here is how they are measured.
The proper Z06 wheel & offsets are:
Front 17x9.5 +56mm
Rear 18x10.5 +58mm
The greater the positive offset the more the wheel is pulled inwards.
A too positive of an offset could possibly cause the problem you are describing.
Also if you do have a wheel with much positive offset I believe a spacer could be used to push the wheel back outwards.
