Hi Matt:
I think you should start by reading a book called (the complete story) CORVETTE by Rany Lenfingwell. It has alot of the history of the Vette forn pre-1953 up to the 2004 year model. It also has alot of techincal and political snip-its. I thought it was well written and to the point. It is something that could also be skimmed and outlined for what you may be looking at doing.
Hope you guys U and your Dad have fun with the GREATEST AMERICAN SPORTS CAR

Welcome to the forum Matt,

I'd recommend that you get in touch with the National Corvette Museum and tell them what you've got going on for a project and I'm sure that they would be more than willing to help you out.

You can phone them at 1-800-53-Vette or online at http://www.corvettemuseum.com/

Additionally, here is a direct link that I think might help you out. This is the Corvette Timeline......a Chronology of Events in the History of Corvettes.

http://www.corvettemuseum.com/librar...ine/1951.shtml

Good luck with the project.

Paul

There are a number of books out there (too numerous to mention all of them) that will give you a lot of information. The chronology of this car is a very interesting subject, and the fact that it has survived numerous times with threats to pull the plug is amazing in itself.

I think you've chosen an interesting topic - but remember that all of us here find it interesting - we're all Corvette lovers! Your intended audience might not find it that interesting. So make sure you tailor your presentation to your intended audience. Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes!

Matt, good luck on your project. Lots of history for the Corvette. Paul's suggestion on calling the National Corvette Museum is a good one. They should have a lot of resources - plus maybe you can talk your Dad into becoming a member.

Welcome Mat - You'll be amazed at some of the things you'll learn about the vette. Sounds like a great project. Good luck.

If oyu have the time, and perhaps for a bit of extra fun, if you have an XBox or PS2, check out Walmart or Circuit City for a game named "Corvette" (Currently about 6$. No, thats not a typo, six bucks)

You can race every model/color/body style of vette from the C1-C5, as well as several of the special editions. It's got some interesting videos, fact sheets for each generation, etc.

Ex: in career mode, when you finish a series of races, it runs a slideshow of each model within the C-x series, showing the various colors and styles

when you choose a car, you can view build totals, performance specs, MSRP, etc.

I haven't fully explored all the other stuff - those are just a few things I have found so far.
