Default Dual Zone Climate Control Display Blank

Is it just me or has anyone else experienced their climate control display go dim and then blank? And, how do you get it repaired without replacing the whole unit?

GAStateRep, Mine went dim and blank about a month ago and one of the very helpful forum members posted this information

David Ruberg is a CF member Forum name Mandigital you can PM him
e-mail is digitalguy_1@charter.net
Under $50 for the repair with a 5 year guarantee.
He did mine. it works better than new.

I emailed him this weekend and he still repairs them. I believe you can get information from Vette Essentials website about how to remove the unit. I am going to remove mine in about a week or two, as I am finishing a basement project first.

I hope this helps!

Very very common problem. You can send it to that guy for the fix, or try to find a used one, but you'll have the same problem with a used one in the future. I'd get it fixed, IMHO

Mine did that a couple of years ago.
Tapping on the display usually took care of it for a while.

Since I have GMPP, the entire AC head unit was replaced. (300$ for the part if you are not under warranty.)

David ruberg (Mandigital) fixed mine. It works better than new.
When I removed mine I found a very helpful post .
It was for putting in billet Aluminum gauge bezels. The removal sequence to do that exposes the screws that hold your HVAC digital display head in place.
If you PM me you e-mail address I will send you that document in Word format.
It took about 20 minutes ( going slow and careful) to get it out.
