Default Headlight doors

Does anyone know how to align headlight doors/headlight buckets???
On my 97 the alignment of the doors when shut, seems like it could be better. The right side light is a little high on the front inside edge.

I've got the manuals but haven't found the right pages yet , if its in there.

Newer models seem to look and align a lot better. Maybe it's just a 97 first year of new car thing.

Then maybe I'm being to picky.

The doors can be adjusted with a #10 Torx. The vertical adjustment is handled by removing the headlight bezel (that black part that goes around the headlights). Remove the bezel - there are three phillips head screws holding it in place. Once the bezel is removed, you'll expose the Torx screws. There are two in the back (facing the windshield) close together. Then, there is one on each side. The door has a slotted hole, meaning that you can loosen the screws without removing them and move the door up and down as needed.

If you want to adjust the door horizontally - you remove the door all together, and expose the frame to which the door is mounted. There are four more Torx screws that allow the frame to move around horizontally. Again - you can loosen the screws and move the frame, because the holes are slotted.

When I did mine - I raised and lowered each headlight independently with the manual *****. It just seemed easier to me rather than raise both and leave the parking lights on while I monkeyed around. If you do it this way - just remember to lower them manually before you try turning on the lights.

One word of caution - this adjustment is a PITA - because it is all trial and error. I got mine close, but they are far from "perfect". Good luck!
