Manual release for trunk?
My battery (I think) is dead, and my jumper cables are in the trunk. When I press the trunk release button, the trunk doesn't release. Is there a manual release for the trunk somewhere?
Thanks.
That doesn't strike me as the greatest arrangement, but since it's a convertible, you can open the soft-top cover and get to it, though I don't know how convenient that might be for you.

There is a glow-in-the-dark trunk release handle
located on the rear wall of the trunk below the latch.
This handle will glow following exposure to light.
Pull the release handle down to open the trunk from
the inside.
The illustration that accompanies the paragraph indicates that the handle is NOT in a compartment, but just on the rear wall of the trunk.
To see which paragraph is right for 2002, I went out to my car and looked. Mine has the glow-in-the-dark handle on the rear wall of the trunk, and no cable in the center compartment. I'm assuming that earlier cars had the release in the center compartment, and later ones had it in on the rear wall. I suspect that this change was brought about by laws requiring that trunks can be readily opened from the inside, so that people can't get stuck inside of trunks.
It would be interesting to know in which model year this change took place.

Good luck....
