Default C6 Run Flats on C5?

Is anyone running the C6 runflat tires on after market wheels? Any problems with it?

I'd love to get a set of 18"/19" wheels and run the next generation run flats if possible.

I am. I knew I wanted those tires so I went looking for wheels that would fit them. I ended up ordering iForged Aeros and put my C6 GY (non Z51) tires on them. They look great, ride great, stick great, and are a lot quieter than the C5 runflats. There is a HUGE improvement in the new tires. If you go this route, you won't be sorry.

Any real reason why you want to keep the runcraps besides not having a spare?

That's reason enough for me.

Yeah I like not having to worry about being stuck some where. I haven't had to put on a spare since I was a kid but just as soon as I don't have one something will happen and I will need it.

I've been trying to convince myself to ditch the C5 runflats and the new generation C6 runflat seems to be a big improvement over the C5 version and I still have the saftey margin I want.

You stole my idea. That's exactly what I want to do. As soon as I get the money for the wheels.

I just swapped the Goodyears for Michelin ZPs. Just a few days after putting them on, I was in the middle lane of a VERY busy highway and hit something with the right rear. It was flat in an instant. The ZP was ruined but I was able to drive off the busy highway to a Discount Tire and get it changed out.

I had read a lot of posts about ditching the RFs while I was trying to decide on a tire and I almost did. Blow outs are really rare, but having an RF when they happen is a VERY good thing. My next set will probably be the C6 tires on a nice set of Iforged or something.

I've been running them for awhile now, no problems. 18/19 on after market C6 wheels.
