Live In Florida..... A/c Was Working Perfect. Temps Dropped To 50's So I Used The Heater For A Few Days. Then Temps Were In The High 70's Again. So, I Turn On The A/c And Now It Blows Regular Air- No A/c. Help Its Humid !!
wish we had your hot weather problem here
now for the A/C problem , do you hear th AC clutch engage ?( compressor run )
if not your freon might be low , and the pressure switch is staying open.
i can hear the a/c compressor kick on. and cycling - i believe so.
and as far as bringing it to a shop......... this is south florida !!
last time i went to a shop for a/c problems (with anoyher vehicle ) they told me it was shot and i needed this and this and that for $1,600.00..
well, i ended up putting a fuse in and it worked for another 65,000 miles !!
Check your outside air temperature sensor. If it is not working properly, the air conditioner will not "know" it's hot enough outside to cause the controller to put a demand on the AC, even though it's engaging.

air temp sensor is fine. i have electronic controls. the a/c pipe is very cold going into the firewall. the battery never leaked. but how loud is the air mixture door when closing / opening ? i cany seem to hear this.......
thanks for all the help.

I am having a similar problem. When ever I hit the AC button (I have the electronic system) the light on the button will flash about 4 or 5 times. The compressor clutch does not do anything.
I just had the compressor replaced recently so I went back thinking it was a faulty compressor. They said that the compressor is working so there is some problem between my HVAC and the compressor.
I am getting the code B0446 ( lest actuator out of range) I do not think that would make the compressor not turn on (plus I know this has been a problem for awhile but I do not usually have passengers so I do not care about that side of the car).
I have thought that the system might be out of freon but i figured the compressor would at least go through one cycle. I guess I could just popping in some more freon but would not want to overcharge the system if that is not it.
