I just bought the 2-Tone Custom Seat Covers from West Coast Corvettes. Before I start the seat replacement project, I am looking for installation instructions, advice, lessons learned, etc. I also have some basic questions. Will I need to remove the seats from the car to replace the seat covers? How do I remove the white plastic fasteners that are currently in place without breaking them? Is this a 3 hour job or a 2 day job? Please provide any information that will make this an easy experience for me.
VE's instructions are definitely the best around! You will have to remove them from the car and if you're doing it by yourself I'd allow a weekend but it probably won't take you that long. I just did mine with the help of two experienced fellow Vetters and it took about 5 hrs.
One major suggestion I have is cover the bolster portion of the seat frame with something so it won't poke through the new covers. I took a light indoor/outdoor carpet and wrapped it around and ductaped it. VE includes a similar cap with their seats. I'd also order new foam for the driver's side minimum. New foam made mine feel new again.
