Default Winter... What's it good for?!?!

Here we are, a good half of the country with our Vettes put away for the winter.. I don't know how you feel, but putting the car away each year is getting tougher and tougher. To date, I have kept a promise to myself and have never driven the car unless the top was down

Anyway, I've found this time of year to be pretty productive in the mod department, I mean, what else is there to do? (besides photoshopping pictures of EG here on the forum, or practicing baby making when the gf comes over! )

Last year, I did the entire soundproofing of the car (thanks to all the help from you guys here on how to do it) I researched HID's and installed OEM Philips D2S, and added the Lambo doors right before the good weather hit.

This year, thinking of new and exciting things to do, I've decided to "bling" my engine compartment. I'm adding just a touch of chrome (hey Doc, you listening?) some carbon fibre, and a little more polished aluminum. It should look halfway decent when it's done. I'll keep you posted

So what are you guys doing to keep you busy???

In the mean time, here's some pics:

Last year's soundproofing:

This years spy shot!

And a pic of the engine compartment "before"

I have the insulation kit, and heated seat kits in my office, not doing much good there! I hope to do the install in a couple of weeks.

Damn, that's a good looking car. Winter pays off for you. Wish I was that ambitious.

I don't put mine away for the winter, I just don't put the top down as often.

Driving in the winter has it's advantages...no bugs!

I still take mine out once the snow has melted. People look at me strangely (well, more than usual) because they think a Vette is just a summer car. And my neighbors think I'm nuts for washing my car in the cold. When it's a labor of love, you don't feel any pain.

I actually saw a guy driving his C6 convertible yesterday (with the top down!). He must have just got it, the temperature outside was about twenty!

I've spent this winter soldering blue leds all over the place.
Just got finished with the HVAC today!! What a PITA. Jason

Yes

Currently have my IP apart for interior matching gauge bezel rings, IP bezel and door reflectors, and blue LEDs for the DIC and HVAC. The LEDs should be already in the office mail waiting for me. Chrome brake calipers are in the basement but I think that High Polished ones (currently being done) will last longer when/if I decide to do the local auto-X. New spoiler went on a few months ago, thank you Mark MyBlueC5. Otherwise just a boring Winter. Looks like you need to re-zinc those rotors.

Stay well,
Dan

I have an entire Alpine, JL Audio, MB Quart audio/video/nav system sitting in my garage cabinet...

Got half the interior torn out, planning some custom pieces before the install...

Want to head back to ECS for a 3" pulley and a 90 mm TB...

As I've said before, in never ends. Ever.

Spending too much time in the corvette forum...... Looking at posts and corvette catalogs for different items I can buy for the car once it gets out of the garage (in a few weeks!).

Default Absolutely nothin' ... say it again!

Down here in the sunny southland we can drive our Corvettes 12 months out of the year .... when we're not under a hurricane or tornado warning. Anyway, what's the deal about not driving in the rain? I never thought twice about driving my C2 and C3s in any kind of weather, but I'm reluctant to take out the C5 in the wet stuff.
