Default Spillage

Went to Mickey D's last night for our dinner at work. Spilled a whole cup of coke on the pass. seat onto the carpet . I know I have to remove the pass. seat to clean the carpet. Does anybody have any suggestions on carpet cleaners. BTW, also plans on removing the carpet to clean whatever is under the carpet. Will probably do it when the weather gets around 50 a little warmer. I figured with this cold that we're having in Illinois. Hopefully mold growth will be slower or stunted. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thats to bad it wasn't coffee and in your lap the 3 million you would have gotten would have bought you a new vette.

I would add water and suck out with wet dry vac and repeat.

Carpet extraction system will diffuse area with water and then suck the water out at the same time. This will not friz up the carpet fibers. There are attachments with these systems for doing the upholstery that work great for car carpet/interiors. This way you leave almost no water in the carpet and it dries in about a hour. I use this system twice a year in my home using only water to "rinse clean" the carpets. They look as new as the day we installed after 7 years.

When I cleaned my driver side Lloyds mat I just got a solution of warm water and Dawn and used a soft bristle brush. Used a damp towel to wipe down afterwards and then vaccumed. Looked like brand new.

Do it soon and use HOT water and an extractor. My teenage son borrowed my Grand Prix and dumped a Big Gulp on the Grey carpet. We cleaned it up with HOT water and an extractor. Carpet still looks new.

Eating and drinking in the Vette? I don't even phart in mine.

Much.

Wow, that's a very enlightening word you use there. That's exactly what professional and educated people use. I bet you were a Suma *** Laude in College and they teach you to use such words. Assuming that you're a college graduate you don't read much do you? I was the gofer to pick up food last night ( it was my turn), I wasn't eating in the car (dimwit) and that's why we call them accidents. BTW, for those who have negative feedbacks, please don't add insult to injury, I am looking for suggestions on how to clean this mess up. If I wanted to be flamed for anything, I'll probably say hey I traded in my Vette for a Kia.

Don't feel bad dude, My wife and both eat and drink in mine all the time. I like spending as much time as possible in there. I for one think you can have it both ways. I am pretty **** about keeping it clean though even though I've had my share of Starbucks spilled in there. This usually happens when some poor hopped-up Mustang comes looking for something he can't handle but that's another story...

I know just how you feel. I did almost the same thing, only luckily I was in my truck at the time. I was headed to a Super Bowl party and had a crock-pot full of beef stew sitting on passenger's side the floor. Naturally, a couple of fast turns and it was out of the pot and on the carpet. I diluted some Oxie Clean in a couple of gallons of water and sponged it in. Used my ShopVac to vacuum the water back out. Worked great. No stain and no smell the next day. I didn't want every dog in the neighborhood trying to jump through the truck window.

Removed my seat today and flipped part of the carpet. Wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Cleaned it with water, didn't have to use shop vac. Just a really really wet rag and wiped it down good. Thank goodness I got black interior. Stains are not so easily found. and just letting it air dry. But it's no longer sticky. so thread and case closed.
