Default Flat Repair Question

Apologies in advance if this seems like a stupid question. I'm planning to get rid of run flats, and repairing a tire with a plug kit is no big deal. But doing it while it's still on the vehicle is new to me...

Is it necessary to jack the car up in order to plug the tire? How about for re-inflating the tire? Is a small 12v compressor capable of re-inflating the flat tire with the weight of the car on it or does it need to be lifted?

Thanks...

As long as you can see it you can temporarily plug it while it is on the car.
Yes a plug in 12V compressor will inflate the tire with the weight of the car on it... just takes a while... Before I bought my garage air compressor the 12V plug in is what I always used to top up my tires
