We found which C5 drivers use driving gloves, now let's find out who uses night-time driving glasses. Maybe it's age, but I seem to be getting increasingly sensitive to glare at night. It doesn't help that everybody thinks it's cool to drive with their fog lights on. Any recommendations???
I don't think I've ever seen any night driving glasses, although I have heard of them. If they really helped I might consider them, as my night vision just ain't what it used to be.
i wear glasses all the time..and the anti reflective coating helps with the glare. during the daytime i wear polarized sunglasses which helps even more.
I'll sometimes use night driving glasses, my blue eyes get sensitive in day light and the nasty glare. Yellow lenses tone things down for me and give clarity (at night), even driven with orange but it wasn't as good as the yellows.
I saw an ad in one of the airline catalogs about "night driving glasses" that I was thinking about trying.
I only have a problem when its raining. Dry conditions don't bother me
You OLD fogies should do what I do. . . just stay at home
For whatever reason I don't have as much problem with glare as I used to, could be the lenses, they have a coating, not sure which (failing memory) but I know it isn't the antiglare. But nontheless I don't like to drive at night, don't have a problem seeing it just irritates me not to be able to see everything in full light, just personal preference I guess.
I actually just got Rx glasses, specifically for this. My night vision has worsened as I enter my 40's and the anti-glare coating on the lenses I purchased really helps. Where I have had the most improvement is at night in the rain...

May want to check with your optometrist and see if they have any recommendations if the glare is bothering you. With all the coatings, tints, etc that they have now, I'd bet they could find one that works for you.
I have a pair of sports glasses with interchangable lenses for biking. I use the clear lenses at night a lot when I'm driving with the top down. Anything but clear reduces the amount of light that reaches your eye by a fairly significant amount (usually at least 30%, even for yellow). You have to weigh the advantage in contrast from the yellow against the reduced available light.
I have yellow lenses for dark rainy days. The increased contrast helps me a lot then, but never at night.
A REALLY good pair of sunglasses for daytime driving is great "mod" IMO.
