If the low mileage means alot to you that's fine and get the car. But a C5 is not an investment and will continue to de-value for a while yet. These are cars that are meant to be driven. They are reliable, fun, fast, and great looking. The styling did not change throughout the entire production. You can find newer C5s for that price, which would have HUD and a few other options that came along. It's really your call. Personally at 25K, even with the miles, I think it's high. But if a super low miles Vette is what your looking for, go for it. You're going to love it whether it has 5000 or 50,000. Just remember to wave! Zuti

C-5 market report from Corvette Magazine shows that @ price for 98 coupe in good shape is $24,500, and show ready is @ 28.

I got mine 2 yrs ago, paid to much for it, but loved it (had the fever and didn't care).

Do it !

BTW, I was already offered $2000 over the price I paid on my '99 Coupe with 1,658 mikes on it from a Car dealer. The value of a car or any asset is what someone is willing to pay for it, not what some book states.

Check out Corvette Magazines latest issue and you will see some pretty high values for C5's, doesn't mean a thing unless you get the right person. A low mileage car has the best chance to get a premium price.

I just sold my 1998 Torch Red auto Coupe with standard seats and 20K miles for $23,000 in one day without an ad, only word of mouth. The car was excellent, not flawless like my current '99, but a great unmolested car with no issues and no paintwork. IMHO, $25K for the 5K mile Silver Coupe is not bad, especially with the mods.

BTW, I agree, people should drive their Corvettes. But some get as much enjoyment preserving them, to each their own is what I say.

Now I have to decide between Borla Stingers (Dual or Quad tip?) or should I get SLP Loudmouths or possibly Bassani's.

That many miles with 3 grand in mods not on the car? Why didn't the dude put the mods on? Is there something wrong with the car? See if somebody can help you with a carfax, maybe? You could probably haggle the price down a bit, though.
