Default Opening convertible top

When I open my top the painted cover is very hard to close. It seems like the top is not folded down all the way. The latch is adjusted just find since when the top is up I can close the cover with little pressure. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,
Mike

I don't know if this is the same problem. MPerl3 is kinda vague. When I go to put my top back up and I have it folded pointing up and try to close the cover, it hits when I try to put it down. Is there a way to adjsut this? I've tried with no luck. Either I am just a dumb@$$ or S.O.L. Which is? (boy did I leave my self open on that question.... )

The owners manual says to give the center of the top a push once its down. My tonnough (how the hell do you spell tonnough) cover still takes a bit of a push to get it latched....Mines an 04

The rear deck cover on my '01 Vert also has some resistance on closing. Pushing down on the convertible top as Rocky L32 suggests helps a bit, but sometimes it takes me two attempts to get it to close properly.

My 02 takes a little force also...try pushing down in the middle and not on the sides when you shut it......My top hasn't been down in 4 months...

Mine's the same way. I push it down in the middle and sides as much as I can before trying to close the tonneau (sp in have no idea ) cover. It's still a hit or miss situation. At least once it's down you know it's not going to be vibrating or making noises that would drive you nuts.

I'm with the other guys. Give the top a little harder shove once it's down, then push the lid (Didn't have to write toneau-tonaeu-ton-oh the hell with it.) in the center.

Default It's the latch handles

after the top is down, turn the latch handles to where thet dont hit the reinforcing ribs on the cover, I believe (without going in the garage and looking) it's towards the outside. Makes a BIG difference......Makes me feel good that I have an answer! Enjoy the Convertible.

Default top

I have the same trouble on mine. I just push down hard right where the braces fold up on both sides and the waterfall closes fairly easy. If I don't do it is really hard to close the waterfall.
