do you guys think the fixed roof coupes are going to be worth a bit more due to the low production numbers,i tried a search but no luck,i might be buying one also so that is the reason for me asking, thanks.
It's anyone's guess really. If they do become a collector's item you can bet the rare colors such as white, and nassau blue will be a lot more valuable.

From what I have seen they have appeared to have depreciated slightly less then the coupes. I doubt you will see any appreciation of any C5 for a long, long time unless it is truly unique.
I think the 1999 and 2000 FRCs will be the most valuable C5s in the future because they are the rarest C5s.
They aren't the rarest C5's by a long shot. There were roughly 2,000 built in each 99 and 00. Also even the rare colors, such as Speedway White, there were over 300 produced. Now take a C5 like Aztec Gold. There were only 15 produced, and only 1 convertible 6 speed. I love FRC's, but they certainly aren't the rarest C5's.
According to "CORVETTE MAGAZINE" (April 06) they did a "Corvette Market Report" on all years of C5.
".....Few buyers bit on such a marginally cheaper hook” (talking about the sticker price), “making the 1999 and 2000 hardtop relatively rare (and as-yet unappreciated) examples of the breed."
"Though nearly all C5s are depreciating just like the used cars they are, only one- the 2000 hardtop- saw a double -digit drop in the past year, which means the overall rate of depreciation is slowing. A few others followed at a around 9%, including the 99 hardtop. With their fixed roof, mandatory 6sp and standard 345 HP LS1, hardtops continue to slip through the cracks, making them interesting to the price-conscious. It’s also worth noting that all c5s have tended to depreciate less than other used cars of the same vintage and status".
Also talks about the C5 z06 prices depreciating faster, mostly due to the C6 standard 400 hp and similar handling.
Lots of good info in the new Corvette Magazine on the C5 values.
well i love the car regardless and i'm not doing it for investment but i just thought it'd be nice, also the other vette i'm looking at is a nassau blue 98 for 20K$ with 62k miles but is not a frc model and it has the removable roof but the 2000 frc for 22K$ with 39k miles is more attractive value wise to me,thanks for the quick replies.
Buy what you like, thats all that really matters. I think the FRC will appreciate with time due to their rarity. If you like it that’s all that matters. Enjoy.

Maybe it's just me...but I like the sun on my head and the wind in my hair.. (If...I had hair)
I have an FRC and love it. But I admit sometimes I wish I had a removable top. And the 98 with 62,000 miles for $20,000. You can probably find one with less miles for that amount. Check the C5's for sale section.

OK, well, which is it. Rare or not rare?
And if you could find me a Speedway White FRC, I would take it in a heartbeat. That would truely be a rare one!
i didnt buy the hardtop to try and make money off it later but i think it looks 10x better and i always see coupes and verts here so i think the hardtop is more rare and in 30 years it will most likely be worth more. btw we all know the frc is faster than the coupe and vert
I have been looking for a FRC for months...and "rare" is a good word to use...
I have found a few but most were Black and I just sold a 95 6 sp Black on Black Corvette and to be honest I do not want to deal with another black car EVER...!
I hate the large glass hatch window on the coupes and already owned 2 Ragtops...BUT Today I gave up when I spotted a 98 Conv..6 sp..with 21,400 miles ...it sits in the garage as I type...
IF the darn FRC's were NOT SO RARE I would have had one in the garage sooner...(even passed on a couple of Z06's...in my search....why I did I don't know..)...
well it looks like is going to be the black on black frc,and what happened with your last black car 24695bob?
Black cars look absolutely Awe inspiring after its been washed and waxed...for about thirty minutes. Then every little speck of dust glows like a light in the darkest night.
Had a black car once
Oh, by the way. I love my FRC. I search for mine for about a year. stumbled across it by accident. Had every option except Dual climate control.

DOH! - guess a numbers matching car might be worth more too then huh?
