I've only had my C5 for a week, and maybe I've missed it in the manual, but is there a button in my car that will "learn" my garage door opener. With all the options on this car, I surely would expect it.
Please corvette god... I'm not complaining
I have a Chrysler Sebring with "Home Link" that learns your garage opener code and the button us built into the visor. I haven't seen this feature in a Vette.

Do a search on the Forum - there are posts where it's a DIY project. Cost less than $50 total, or get a visor with the unit built in from a vendor for approx $175.
A few years ago I took out my ash tray and put my garage opener remote in behind that door. It was less expensive than the $150 visor, but just as effective. I guess I am always trying to save a buck or two!
I just leave mine in the armrest console... but I must admit i'm tempted to do the homelink visor....when i run out of things on my current mod wish list

Thanks for the responses. I gotta think Vette2k1 has my solution.
Homelink from ebay. A bit of my time and about $40.00 invested.
If your handy do a search for homelink here on the forum, you will find plenty of install help.
I velcroed my garage door opener to my steering column under the steering wheel. Need to make sure the column is all the way in before picking the location. Out of sight, convenient location, quick and easy install.

I'm doing the exact same thing, and my gate remote is in the ash tray. I'm really wanting to install a Home Link though because I'm getting tired of opening doors/hatches/whatever to fumble with the remotes. One of these days...

If 1 is checking your oil and 10 is a full engine overhaul, doing the visor mod is about a 3 or 4. Did mine and love it. Just follow the instructions here:
The only caution on these instructions is to be careful on the polarity. I think he may have gotten them reversed, but it might not matter. There lots of stuff on this forum about this mod to guide you as well.

Yep, added mine 3 years ago and very happy with it.
However, remove the visor is sometime really tough.
For some reason, I just cannot take down my driver side visor so I have to put it on the pass side visor.
I have tried so hard on the driver side and it would not turn; however, on the pass. side, it turned right away.
Just don't know why!
Good luck!

Another alternative is the "flash to pass" module. I have it installed in the vette and my motorcycle. Two blinks of the flash to pass, cause my garage door to open.
I just picked up a new daily driver and it has just about every option you cold imagine, except a garage door opener. Extra transmitters are $35, so I will probably add one to this car also.
The two I have have been 100 percent trouble free. Your results may vary
