My CL locked up back in 03, dealer fix the CL with No charge. This is before the recall came out. Very nice of them. Points made by dealer. The first of this week I went in to make a appt. for the new recall. The service rep said bring it Thursday early am. Get there 8:30am and remind the service rep its for the new recall #040006C ok. The recall said its a 50 min. job. 11:15am they bring the vette out, and tell me I have to bring it back in because there computer is down. Now the good part~ I get home and as I'm getting out I turn the wheel it locks up. Called the service rep was told they did the right recall fix. Called the service manager told him about the new recall, and that the locking plate has to be removed. I was told they don't remove the locking plate because someone can put it out of gear and push it away. I told him to read the new recall bulletin #040006C and call me. Call from service manager they screwed up, and bring it in in the morning. Get there 8:15am and get out of there at 11:00am. The plate is out.
When I went in I made sure that the Service Advisor knew about the new procedure. When it was ready I made him call the tech that did it to ensure the lock was removed.
I could have sworn I had mine fixed, but I got the letter anyway.
You probably had the original recall done which came out in Nov 2004. But I see that you have a MN6 so they really didn't fix it, only reprogrammed your computer. If you read the new recall, they will remove your locking plate as they did with the autos the first time around.

Yes you are right, and I knew that but they didn't. But they know it now.
