I have been thinking of airbrushing racing stripes on the little beauty.
Does anyone have some pics. I am looking for ideas for color and style. Mine is Machine Silver Metallic.
I am in the process of painting a hood liner,Corvette Logo in color with a black and white square racing flag motif. Paula will be sending it to me soon. I will be putting up some pics when it arrives.
Looks great. I like the hood idea with the stripes. Can you give me an idea of the cost?
Keep in mind that the Vette you are looking at has an aftermarket hood.
Here in Dallas the repainting of a hood (from a good painter) runs approximately $1800.
This is a high costs, but includes 'blending' the color of the hood to the fenders, etc.
I have seen some painted stripes costing less than $400, but you get what you pay for. A good painter will probably charge in the $500-600 range.
As an alternative, a Forum Member sells stripe kits (vinyl), and are very good looking. Do a search for him (his first name is Mike, and the rest of the screen name is Mike+his zip code - just search vinyl stripes).

Here's my stripes from Mike76002. He's a Forum Supporting Vendor. The cost was under $200.

Here's mine from Mike.... I like the vinyl, when I get ready for a change, I just peel them off & wax.... Mike is a great guy, he will work with you. The dark ones are carbon fiber, works good with the pewter. When I got my C-5, there was not a pewter vette around here, now mine doesn't look like all the others.
