Default Heater/AC Display

My heater/Ac temperature digital display is not as bright as it used to be. I've checked the rheostat control and I can still make all the other dash lights bright/dim but the heater digital display is very dim. the other light controls for the heater are OK, it is only the digital temperature display. Thanks.

It is a common problem... associated with faulty solder connections on the power supply.
you can buy a new unit for about$400 + installation
or you can buy a used unit for about $150 with no guarantees or
you can PM Mandigital or e-mail him
David Ruberg digital1_guy@charter.net

David can repair most of them for about $50.... He give a 5 year guarantee on his work...

There are a number of write ups on how to remove the console and center of the dash ...

David fixed mine... it works better than new

Try tapping it sharply with your knuckles. This has worked for some as a fix.

I gotta go with Rich on this one. Wrapping it may fix it temporarily but it will come back. digital_guy will fix you up good as new.

The one on my 01 got like that, I could tap on it and it would come back on. It finally got to where I couldn’t see it so I went to my dealer (still under warranty) and he had to order the display. It took about 3 days to come in and the day they called and said to bring the car in it went back to working! I went ahead and had it replaced along with the emergency flasher as it was acting up. I got the old one from the dealer just in case it starts acting up, I’ll just send it off, get it repaired and replace it myself.
