I had a couple F-bodies when I first bought the vette, but sold them. I work mostly from home, so I guess mine is a semi daily driver 
It has not been a problem at all, except the black is harder to keep clean when you have to take it out all the time.

Get rid of the Goat and move to the dark side. 
The C5 is very reliable and many forum members use as a DD and have driven many miles. Depending on the year there have been some minor problems but just do the research.
