Finished soundproofing my coupe today. I spread the job out over a couple of days...snowing on and off here...no need to rush. Anyway, it was a fun project. Spent about $60 total. Cheap enough for a mod that will give a quieter interior and less heat build up. Anxious to take a drive and see how much difference it makes.

What did you use? I'll assume you didn't use Dynamat, b/c it seems like it would cost a hell of a lot more than that. Did you put it under the carpets, in the doors and everywhere?

 

I followed the instructions written by these two guys in the link below. I used what EvilTwin used. Gutted the entire interior and insulated driver / passenger cabin as well as the rear cargo area. Followed EvilTwin's instructions and did the wheel wells etc. Didn't do inside the doors. I founsd most of the noise in my coupe was coming from behind the driver left side which is where the wheel well is. It's the tire noise on some road surfaces that annoying. The rest of the insulation should take care of heat build-up during long summer drives. I purchased the 4'x25' roll of the aluminized material and duct tape. very important, especially on 1997 thru 2002 C5's. Just doing the fenderwell area using ET's instructions will make a big difference on rear tire noise creeping into the cabin area.

 

I'll be doing the rear wheel wells and deck... ...makes a nice difference.

 

The heat reduction was worth the time for me.
