Millenium Yellow Paint Code
Hope this helps a bit

Well, good buddy, the paint code for Millenium Yellow is 79U. In auto body paint supply language, the PPG Code is 5593, which is a "Yellow Tint Coat" (DBC Base/Clear Coat) that is actually manufactured miixed with Red and Black. Best Wishes to you.

MY consists of a tint base coat (appears white), translucent color coat (yellow), and a standard clear coat. This is how the factory applied it in 3 stages.
However,
Aftermarket paint systems "attempt" to match it in a standard 2 stage bc/cc system, and it doesn't match perfectly.
Most painters trying to perfectly match it find that adding a little color (or tint) to the clear coat does work in yielding a better match, but that's not the way it was originally done.
BadYellowCorvette, if you are painting that front spoiler, do yourself a favor and either leave the car, or perhaps the front license plate cover with the shop so your painter will have something to match it to. MY is a bitch to match, and he will have to experiment and tint the paint a little to get it just right.
If you just drop the spoiler off and give him the paint code, you will probably not be happy with the color match.
So do I need to just give my painter the 79U or the 5593 code? Does the clear coat have to be a special kind of clear? I've heard that has a green tint to it?Just need to let him know what all he needs to order so he can order it tomorrow. Thanks!
