Go with the M/T Drag radial...It has more of a side-wall for hooking at the track... But the Nitto tire will take gear away from you because it more than a 1/4 taller Tire.. But, The 305/35/18 Is for a 10.5 - 11.00 Rim So it you have the 9.5 With its not gonna work well for you..
I would go with the nitto if you planning on runnin it on the street alot more than the track
Big time!!!
My weak 01 with almost same mods (vararam, LG Pro Lts and a tune) went from a 1.83 60 on BFG 295 35 18s :o to a 1.70 on the MT ET st radials. They hook awesome and IMO are safer due to the side wall. The big question is what are these for ie street/strip or strip only???
Dave
There are a lot of opinions here. And I'll add mine.
The MT ET Street Radial in 275.40.17 is the best hooking tire available for a stock/near-stock/less-than-450 rwhp C5Z06.
It's hook is derived from its very soft tread compound. It works well in very cold surface temp down to low-40s. No other DR will do that.
The downsides of this tire are two.
(1) Because it is sticky, it requires a launch rpm that's 600-1000 higher than other tires. Makes for good 60' but will wear out a clutch faster.
(2) It is plain squirrelly on the street and treacherous on wet streets. Quite the opposite of BFG or Nitto alternatives.
Given these points, if you're after the best possible 60' and ETs, go for the MT Radials. But that choice will involve trade offs with clutch life and streetability.
