Default Wind blocker for Vert?

Anyone bought a wind blocker for their vert? Where did you get it and how much was it? Mid America has one that looks nice but it seems kinda pricey to me.

These seem to get mixed reviews here. Many don't like the look. I honestly don't find the wind objectionable in mine.

Here's a boost to the top... maybe you'll get some opinions from someone that has one.

I agree with Gary, after all it is a convertible. However, I saw one post that mentioned raising the windows about an inch. I haven't tried it, but I hate it when I see convertibles with the top down and windows rolled all the way up. Too geekie for me.

I got mine at WCC. The wife will not ride in the car with the top down without it It makes a good comprise, I get the sun and open air, and she doesn't get her hair all messed up When I'm alone the top is down without it and the wind is not that bad.

I have one and would not spend the money again if I had to do it all over again. It helped a little but the rattling noise from the poor fit was really annoying.

Default Vette Net

Most of them i have seen are called Vette Nets. The new one is about $380, extra for the storage bag i think. You can find them in the catalog of Corvette America, Eckers, most of the vette suppliers. Probably some of the vendors here.

Had a '90 Vert before my 2k. They did not make them for that year so i made one. It was a great improvement for highway driving if you take a long trip and like to talk or listen to the radio. Not much need for around town driving.

I just found one on Ebay, had to look awhile, and there have been several advertised here under C5 parts for sale. They go pretty fast so some people must like them.

The one on Ebay was only second one i saw there. Cost me $210 and that included the storage bag, very nice cover. Got lucky, it looks like brand new and probably wasn't used more than once or twice form the looks of the holders. I wrapped the ends that go in the holder with black electrical tape to keep it from scraping the paint putting it in, and also tightens it up a little and won't rattle. Very simple to put on.

I don't like to run with the windows up but if it's a little cooler, a long drive, or you want to talk and listen to CD's it does work best with the windows up. It works with windows down, just not quite as well. Guess it channels the air around you better. Came up behind a chick in a new Mercedes awhile back and she had one. looked cool i think.

The new ones are made with plexglass i think instead of the screen, they are also lower i believe. Most of the ones you see used will be the older style, which i like better. If you keep your eyes open here or Ebay you may find one for around $200-250.

I love the Vette Net and would highly recommend although it's not for everyone. I think about 3 or 4 members of our club have them and they all like it for highway and longer trips. Sorry, don't have a pic yet.

P.S. Tried one of the type that's cheap, about $35 and fits over the seat. Doesn't work near as well and looks much worse. Uneven when seats are uneven and looks loose.IMO

Found (Vette Net) one in the parts section for $160, a member had to sell his car due to a divorce.

Vette Net. Same here, stops wife's hair from blowing around. Also reduces headlight glare.

Can't find the one for 160 you're talking about?? Found one for 250. Looks like they go pretty quick.

I have one with the cover, but never use it. I would be willing to part with it. PM me.

?? Not sure I understand ??

The frame is flat black, and the plexiglass is a smoked grey color.

I'm going to build my own. I got chrome seatback hoops (BOLT ON) and my plexiglass from the home depot. I'm using polished aluminum custom mounting brackets that will go completely around the hoop bars and bolt through the plexiglas (with small rubber or poly u spacers to keep things from scratching)

will post pics when done
