Default Custom Exhaust

Has anyone on here done a custom setup? I want to get 3in pipes going from the headers with a xpipe. I dont want a brand name and I think I can do this for less than $600. Any thoughts on this, has anyone done this? Just a basic 3in pipe all the way down? If so, pics are greatly appreciated!

Why? The car won't perform any better with 3" all the way out and maybe a little worse.

i dont get the people that say it will perform worse... these engines dont work on back pressure like a 2 stroke would... the easier the exhaust gets out the more performance you are going to get out of the engine. Correct me if Im wrong.

I want to do one myself because I don't want a name brand sound... had a 96 mustang GT way back in the day and I did this and no other stang sounded like it... never a problem.

Several folks here have done it. Generally they are running big-cube motors but I've seen a couple of stock-disp C5's running a 3" system. I think some that have tried 1-7/8" primary headers with stock cubes have noticed low-end torque loss but 1-3/4" headers with 3" pipes seem to work OK.

Ive considered cutouts... and I would really love to do em... I just dont have the cash, I spend all my money at strip clubs... Im addicted. I have stock exhaust and want to do something permanent and good looking.

I would be willing to do cutouts but then the whole tips look go into consideration... I saw AU yellows race exhaust and I would love to know how he did his 3" tips. Maybe Ill just pm him
