Just as the title says, my driver side light won't go down. I don't hear any gears grinding it just goes down and back up, I have noticed since the last time i drove it(about 2 months ago) that that light was sitting up a little more than normal, is there a adjustment? I've heard the gears are cheap from stock but could they be bad with the car only having 10,000 miles on it?
A local corvette repair shop said it may be the headlight control moduler but my car is now not under warranty and the part cost $200, I dont mind spending the money but the part cannot be returned if that is not the problem

Get a second opnion. Sounds like to me too, but I have yet to have issues with my headlights...knock on wood.
check connections at the module. unplug and plug back in.
Do you have twilight sentinel?
sounds like maybe a ground on the frame rail next to the headlight.
Unplug both headlight motors turn headlights on then off plug the headlight motors back in and cycle the lights.
Have you added any lighting to the car?
Thanks I'll try that, it does have twilight sen, but no I have not changed any lighting in the car, but
I have changed the battery in the last 2 months my first red top went bad(car sat to long or so I was told)so I got another one don't know if that would screw with it??
My passenger side went at 11000 miles and fixed it under warranty. The lights came on every time I pulled in or out of the garage. The mechanic said this may have caused the excessive wear on the motor and to turn the automatic lights. Great advice. Have 31000 now and no problems with the headlights.
Thanks alot!!!! I bet that is the problem, not sure why it would take 6 years for it to need spacers but I dont care I am on the phone now ordering the parts.

OK guys if you have a 1997-2000 please open this link that Kvozel provided for us, This link just saved me $200(just for the part NON REFUNDABLE) on a control moduler that two dealership and a corvette repair shop told me was the problem,The parts in the link ran me $19.50 and I have not installed the spacers yet but I put the insulators(bumpers) on and the headlight works perfect so try this first before you spend alot of money THANKS KVOZEL
