Default Recommendations for Headers/Exhaust?

I have an '01 Z06 with a few bolt on intake mods. Id like to do the exhaust system now. Looking to potentially get new headers, cats, and a cat-back system. I am looking for anyone's input/experiences/recommendations on this matter. Thanks.

Well a cat back isnt gonna do much in the HP department but it will give you a difference in sound/looks but keep in mind how light the stock Ti system is, long tubes will make a big difference in HP and sound. You should see a solid 20 rwhp with long tubes and tuning. The stock Ti sounds very sweet with headers, I would recommend getting the headers first, see if the sound is to your liking.... if not then seek a cat back system.

I have the LG's with no cats with the stock Ti cat back, sounds great, quiet for easy driving until you mash the throttle then it gets pretty loud. Performance is great too, picked up a solid 2-3 tenths in the 1/4

I have Kooks 1 3/4ths long tubes w/ cats and a Borla Stinger catback. It's fairly docile on cruise as my cam is still stock, however once the gas is mashed it errupts. I have thought about going to the stock Ti, but I always change my mind.

Another vote for the LGM long-tubes and mid-pipe, high flow cats, and stock rear exhaust. Personally, I find most of the after-market muffler systems too loud for routine street driving, and no hp advantage.

i'm noticing a lot of you have the LG Motorsports LT Headers. I've looked around and those do seem to be the best, if not, right up there. I looked at their different products. How do you all feel about the header/x-pipe/high-flow cat setup?

I've got the Dynatech long tubes with cats and the Borla Stingers. Love the sound, love the power. Highly recommended.

I did the same kind of research and came up with ordering the LGM long tube Pro headers w/cats and X-pipe. Got that all being Jet Hot coated right now. From what I was able to gather, this is either AT the top of the list, or darned close to it.

For all of Kooks and Dynatech Headers users.
Who has the best deal on either one on a complete set?

I'm leaning towards Dynatech with the understanding that LG's Headers are still the ones to beat.
I might be in the market for a complete set of headers in 2 weeks or so.
Thx-Goose

i'm also shopping for lt headers/x-pipe, after doing quite a bit of research, imho the lg street series seems to be a good bang for the buck for those that don't plan on racing but just want added street perforamce, at 1199.00, headers cats and x-pipe is hard to beat!

How much will the Jet Hot coating run?

Jeff

I think I am going to go for the Texas Speed header system. Its ceramic coated mild steel with offroad x pipe for $899. Cant beat that deal and the HP gains are VERY similar to the LG headers. I cant understand spending $1700 on LG PRO's then paying $400 more to have them coated by jet hot. And all for a supposed 3-5 more HP ???? I didnt see the 3-5 HP difference on the dyno graphs I saw. I refuse to pay "LS TaX" just because I drive a corvette.

From what I can recall the entire system being coated (headers, cats, X-pipe) is costing me $550.

Same here. I had GHL's and went back to the stock TI's. I love this setup. Sounds fantastic!
