Climate control display
Good morning,
The climate control display on my 98 c5 is out. I understand there is a cold solder joint issue with these things and I would like to try and fix it! Can anyone send me a step by step on how to take apart the console so I can get the climate control unit out and take a look at it. All other functions work but I cannot see what mode I'm in nor any other info because the LED's are out. Thanks in advance.

For removal of the unit follow this link and proceed up to step 3. It will expose the mounting bolts for the HVAC unit

I have only ever seen 1 post on what to solder... I will try and find it for you ... but no promises...

Then - there is an Ebay guy that sells remanufactured units - I believe you return your bad unit as the "core".
