I installed a CLB today...
After having it sit on my kitchen counter for about 6 months, I finally put it in today. Talk about procrastination
I watched/assisted fellow forum member Pedro install his CLB yesterday.
We were going to do mine today, but I decided to try and do it myself instead.
It took about 30 minutes and went very smoothly following online installation instructions. It went much smoother having watched someone do it to theirs first. His took about an hour to finish.
It's so much easier the second time.
Now I don't have to drop it at the dealer and let them remove my steering wheel to do the recall.
It sounds like you either have the CLB installed or you have had a dealer fix with a K harness or someone has removed your locking plate.
All three should provide you varying degrees of protection.
Some on the forum have reported K harness failure. I have not read a CLB failure.
Mine should be at my doorstep sometime today. Joe Gutierrez is gonna help me install it. I dont plan on ever going back to the dealer for anything with this car if i can help it.
wouldn't wait for those who haven't installed CLB.
Mine locked up between time I ordered kit and its delivery.
Was able to overcome it with the manual yank the steering wheel method thanks to the Forum.
CLB went on in about 40 minutes (with help of professional mechanic friend)
