I never heard of an aftermarket exhaust that is "quieter than stock", I like a quiet exhaust, could you give me an example?

I drive a Ford so I am use to the breaking down thing but how bad is the Corvette and how expensive is it to fix.

Who have you been talking to and what year Corvette were they describing? My '97 with 59,000 miles has had the oil changed (not going to avoid that one) and I'm on my first set of replacement tires (I bought the car with 27,000 and some pretty good tread left). The only mechanical thing I've done to the car is had the passenger window regulator replaced when I bought it as the window stopped working. Other than that the car has been problem free (knock's wood) I don't believe for one second that these cars are expensive to maintain. If you have moderate mechanical skills and have all ready found the forum, you should be able to tackle anything that might come your way.
