I have an 04 Commemorative Edition Vert. Had a reputable corvette shop install Kooks headers, high flow cats and an x-pipe on my car about 6 months ago. About a month after the install, I started to get the DIC Codes P0420 and P0430. I had the codes reset and about 50 miles later the check engine light came on again with just one of the codes P0420. I only put a couple of hundred miles on the car a month and I know how to reset the codes, but the light inevitably comes on again - roughly 50 miles later. Is this a result of the headers and cats? If so, what do I need to do to fix the situation?

It's a result of your Hi-flow cats, my car does the exact same thing, and I do the same thing you do just reset the codes.. this is because your Hi-flow cats are not burning enough emissions(due to being hi-flow) and the Rear 02's don't like this..I believe the technical way of sayiing it is "cat efficiancy"
you can by 02 sims, or you can have the car tuned with LS1 edit and turn the 02's off.... I will eventually do this to pass IL emissions.
It does not effect your performance so no worries there
I am not sure what if any emissions laws there are in VA...I am sure someone from VA will jump and help you out on that part.

Need a tune or sims I think. If they clear, the sims fuse must be good but you might want to check just in case.
BLUFF time fo a tune and see what it puts down. Good luck!

Now - anyone know a reputable tuner in the Northern VA Area - vicinity of Quantico?
