Getting a lowered vette on an alignment machine solved
Yesterday I replaced my Kuhmo's with BFG KDW 2's and had the car aligned. I took the car to a specialty shop because I know they have the latest alignment equipment. The only problem was my car is lowered and will drag going up on the machine.
At first they said they couldn't get the car on their machine and couldn't do the alignment.
The solution was:
We had to pull the front up onto the machine until just short of dragging. Then we jacked up the rear of the car until it was level and pushed it onto the machine. Took it off the same way.
Not that I've noticed. Lowering it did affect the alignment more than I thought it would. BTW, I run the z06 alignment. It definitely makes the car turn into corners better.

thats what im gonna get when i get mine done soon....
When I took mine, they just put some boards in front of the machine and drove up...no scraping.

I'm SLAMMED in the front. I have lifetime alignment at Firestone and I take full advantage whenever I change shocks, wheels, tires, or suspension height. They have it down, no problem. I drive it up to the ramp, they put some 2" x 8"s in front of my wheels and on it goes. Comes down just as smoothly. 335 Pilot Sports are here and going in as soon as I toast the rest of the Nitto DRs

That's the only way Grond would get on the machine. Even so, my headers still got hung up on the center jacks (required some more jacking on the sides)

My other concern is the fixtures placed on the wheels. I've had wheels damaged by having these fixtures over tightened by the mechanic, and they've left four marks. The Porsche dealer has a 'special fixture' that hooks over the tire itself at two points, no contact with the wheel.
I'm dreading it too, local Porsche dealer has a new Hunter 400, getting on will be interesting!
That's the exact machine my used. The car hangs on the running boards even with 2x10 boards strategically placed. Make sure you are there when they put in on and off.
