Just got my April Consumer Reports in the mail, and they did an automobile satisfaction survey ... asking which cars would owners buy again.
Corvette was first among sports cars at 93% (Mustang second at 89%), and from scanning the list, Corvette was second overall only to the Toyota Prius at 95%.
I'd say that's pretty good and shows the loyalty evidenced on this forum. Probably most responders to the survey had C5's since the C6 hadn't been out long when the survey was conducted.
Consumer Reports should be used as a tool or a guide. It's another link in the research chain when looking to purchase an item. It shouldn't be taken as 100% Gospel ... IMHO.

I have to disagree when CR is bashed saying they did not like the car. I think that they really did like the car's performance. In a C5 review (dont have the article infront of me), they compared it to a space shuttle taking off from Cape Canaveral and was the fastest car they had ever tested. They also made mention of the rear mounted transmission for better balance. What they did not like was the below average reliability.
If the reliablity was better (and I don't think anybody here can dispute for the most part there is a ton of little things that breaks on this car), I think the Corvette would be at the top end of their list.
