Why does the back speakers sound so weak compared to the front...I mean I can hardly hear them when I fade back to the rear speakers only....is this normal...
Thanks
Tony
I believe its do to them not being amplified. The front speakers have small amps in the doors. I was thinking of replacing rear speaks with small amp but it’s not simple due to being a Boise system. Don’t remember all of the particulars but you need some sort of module to make it compatible with the ohms from the stock Boise head unit or you have to replace the whole system with after market system.
Sounds like I'll just live w/ it...don't want to replace everything..

But to help ya, the front 8" "subs" are individually amplified in the blose system. The deck runs the front 3.5" "twiddlers" mounted above the subs in the door as well as the rear speakers (5.25" for verts/frc's and 6.5" for coupes) from the factory. There is no true tweeter in the blose system. Easy upgrades are adaptor + sub and amplifier to add some real bass, generally coupled with a replacement of the front twiddlers with an Infinity mid/tweet coaxial speaker to improve the highs in the stock blose system.
Check out audio/electronics in general corvette. Lots of us around often to help

Actually, the rears in the coupes are the "oversized" 6.5s, or as some manufacturers call them, 6.75"
