Time for New Clutch?
There's this weird "grinding" noise when going from a dead stop on the First gear, and sometimes btwn the gears when moving, happens only when I'm switching gears......Any thoughts on what might be wrong....must not be good i suppose.......... thanks for the input

Sorry to say this,
But, when you have "grinding" going into a gear, most often, its the sychros in the transmission that need to be replaced.
Hard to say for sure though, with the description you gave.. more details would allow us to take a better guess.

Make sure your concsiously pushing the clutch all the way to the floor.
No floor mats in the way. The other cheap try is a better trans fluid. I use Amsoil ATF, less grinding when shifting. If the clutch isn't releasing all the way, that could be causing. Wouldn't hurt to have a dlr check out. Too much grinding and you'll need syncros in the trans along with whatever is causing the clutch not to release all the way.
