Default console question

I have just ordered somethings from mid america i have bought lots of things from them and i know alot of people on the forum have also so maybe you can answer this question for me.I want to order a console cushion but cannot figure which one to get the accented or the modified i was told they are easy to put on since they go over the existing cover but which one.Maybe some of the forum members can tell me which one they bought and why one over the other in other words why did you like the accented over the modified or the modified over the accented........Thank you charlene

Not exactly sure what you mean by "accented" but the one I got from MA was basic black with a real cool C5 Logo on it. It is fairly easy to install. My old one was worn so this was just what I needed.

It's just a matter of taste.. the cushions are the same...
Why not pick something you like...
the cushion requires that you take the console cover off, then take the console cover inner panel off... then place the cover on the lid, follow the instructions... reinstall the inner panel, then reinstall the lid...
I bought the modified sports seats so I bought all the components for modified...
That's the look I wanted...

Charlene- ET is right on (as usual) with the install part, it is pretty easy to do.
A word of caution- I ordered the Midamerica center counsel cover (my car is torch red) and the red did not match well,, it was almost pink, to light so I returned it, that's even after I installed (should have installed it during the day) and Mid-America gave me no hassle..they made good on it. I had ordered the modified one.

just FYI

The modified is the one with out the cord that goes all around the console. What they told me at mid america when i called that you dont have to take the original leather top off you just slip the new one on over the old one after you take the complete console off is that true?Your car looks great inside i am doing somethings inside little by little...Charlene

Frank my car is black inside and mid america told me that the wheelskin cover and the grab handles and the handle on the airbag that i ordered will all match so hopefully the console will match also when i put my order in for that.......Char

Looking at your console i think i like the modified one like you have the cord that goes around the accented one might get torn if rubbed since the cord sticks up on it.But the modified one does not have that cord to rip.......Thank you

yes the accented one is the black one with the red cord, but you can get different color combinations..

This is how the the MAD console lid cover goes on... the original lid is not leather, but... you only remove the lid, not the whole console.. just the screws in the hindge...
when you flip the lid over you will see an inner panel held with a few screws...
you remove the inner panel.... as I said in my first post...
you follow the instructions which include some double sided tape. you place the tape where instructed, you make sure all of the holes in the leather are stretched properly over the screw bosses of the inner panel...
there are five or six plastic bosses,{Molded in plastic screw holders} that stick up, these bosses and the double sided tape are what hold the cushion tightly over the lid..
when you replace the inner panel , it hides the double sided tape and the ends of the new cushion... it makes a clean look of the bottom of the lid.
Good Luck

I just installed my accented one last week and that's how I did it. I had more of a problem installing the cord that goes around the AH/TC panel but it only took me about 10 minutes to get it right. I'm very happy with the accented model. I think the modified one would've added too much color since everything in my interior is black.
