Got a poprivet point first in the inside side wall of my right rear. Go to Bell tire and the guy tells me it will only cost me $500 to replace the one runflat. Luckly a guy at the counter over here's the conversation and ask me what year corvette I have. I tell him 03. He tells Goodyear covers road hazard for four years on the runflats from when the car was built. So I ask the counter guy to call Goodyear and sure enought they authorize replacement minus threadwear. Since I only had one third wear ends up costing me $200 mounted and balanced.
I had to replace the stock tires on my '03 years ago. Your tread is only 1/3 of the way worn down? And I seem to go through rear tires about twice as quickly as fronts.
Go enjoy your vette and nail the gas every once in a while.
At least you're getting decent warranty coverage on the tire.
I popped a runflat on Rt287. Hole was big enough that I could put four fingers into the tyre. Ended up costing me $450 to have a new tyre put on, mounted etc. Bit of an emergency since it happened in NJ and I live in VA.

Sounds like "Bell Tire" should be on your "never buy there" list. The place is a tire dealer and they didn't know your tire was covered?? Sounds like he was trying to get you for $200 for the tire and $300 for the vasoline.

So? You couldn't have posted this a month and $500.00 ago????
At first, $500 sounded like a lot. But I checked the TireRack website, and a rear Goodyear runflat in the stock size is $389. Add $20 shipping and $40 to mount and balance, and you're pretty close to $500. And the tire dealer had to make a little profit, not to mention sales tax.
