Default I need a support group!

I took off early today to come home and clean and detail the C5. I had it looking sharp if I may say so myself. My wife comes out and tells me that this is "girls night out". So she asks me if she can have the keys. I hand them over and my wife and 14 year old step-daughter are out on the town with my baby. I am home with the 1 year old and the dog that I would love to shoot. I was smart enough to have some emergency beer on hand but I need you guys to help me through this. Tell me it will be okay. Please Johnny, tell me! Tell me it will be okay.

It will be okay man! Remember, it's just a car. It will be fine. Worry more about the ladies in your life!

I gave her the speech about parking in the rear of the parking lot and then I told her to be careful. She has never driven anything like the Vette. She has a Ford Escort as a DD! I let her drive it once with me in the car. I keep telling her that it will get you in trouble if you let it. She says, but I dont hot rod a car. I told her that it does not matter that sometime she will be feeling spunky and try to get on it and it might suprise her.

I had an 89 back in early 90s and the salesman told me that it was a responsive car and that I had to be responsible with it. That was some very good advice. Two weeks later I was driving through an intersection and a car was coming but he was a little ways off and I knew I could get through the intersection. I got on it about 1/2 way through the turn and promptly slid that rear end about 10 feet to the side. Needless to say I was pulling leather out of my a##! After that I got to know my car and what it would do. I just don't want her to find out what it will do the hard way.

I gotta chime in once more... I'd let my gf "drive" all 32 NFL teams, and perhaps the college kids at the scouting combine, before my vette

No worries then. But after the paint job I'd tell her she can't drive it until
the paint cures and you get it waxed. That'll get ya 90 days at least!!

So then it won't matter if you have to put a couple of fenders and a door on it too. That's thinking ahead!
How's the dog?

I'm just playing around, but seriously, I'm sure you would not have given her the keys if you didn't feel she could handle it. And besides, just think what they must be saying as they're driving.... "this car's awesome, we should DEFINETLY do this more often...perhaps one night every weekend!!". Hope I didn't make you feel like....

The dog is in his cage with the door open and he will not come out! I have at least accomplished something tonight.

Yes I suspect this is the start of them driving the Vette. Maybe it will be a good reason to get the wife one.
